Cable Semi-conductive Cotton Tape
Product Description
Semi conductive tape for cables plays an important role in cable manufacturing and maintenance. Its main characteristics and applications are as follows:
1、Characteristics
Semiconductority: Semi conductive tape used in cables has a low electrical resistivity, which allows it to play a specific electrical role in the cable structure.
Conductivity stability: During the stretching process, the semi conductive tape can maintain its conductivity unchanged, which is a key factor in ensuring the electrical performance stability of the cable under different working conditions.
Heat resistance: Semi conductive tape can maintain stable performance at overload temperatures (such as 130 ℃/266 ℉), which is crucial for the safe operation of cables in high-temperature environments.
Good compatibility: It has good compatibility with various cable and conductor materials, and can tightly bond with the insulation layer to form a smooth interface.
Solvent resistance, UV resistance, and moisture resistance: These characteristics enable semiconducting tapes to maintain stable performance in various complex environments, extending the service life of cables.
2、Application
Conductor shielding and insulation shielding: In cable manufacturing, semiconducting tape is commonly used for conductor shielding and insulation shielding. Its function is to improve the electric field distribution inside the cable, avoid partial discharge, and thus enhance the electrical resistance of the cable.
Cable repair: In power system maintenance, semiconducting tape is also commonly used for rapid repair of cables, such as solving repair problems of cable joints, terminals, shielding layers, and edges of semiconducting layers.
Uniform electric field and reduced electric field stress: In high electric field environments, semiconducting tapes can evenly distribute electric fields and reduce electric field stress, thereby protecting cables from electrical faults such as electrical breakdown.
Cable shielding layer extension: For certain specific specifications of cables (such as cables below 5KV), semiconducting tape can also be used to extend the shielding layer to meet specific electrical performance requirements.
3、Precautions for use
Wrapping method: When using semiconducting tape, it is usually necessary to wrap it in a semi overlapping manner to ensure the continuity and stability of electrical performance.
Fully stretch: During the wrapping process, it is necessary to fully stretch the semiconducting tape to ensure a tight fit with the cable surface and avoid the formation of bubbles or wrinkles.
Environmental adaptability: Although semiconducting tape has the characteristics of solvent resistance, UV resistance, and moisture resistance, it is still necessary to avoid prolonged exposure to harsh environments during use to avoid affecting its performance.
